[Far from an inconvenience — but certainly unexpected. Which has pretty much been the theme of the night. Neither Korra nor Asami had expected to be confronted with metalbending guards as they ran from the conflict...guards who turned out to be Red Lotus members in disguise. They'd gotten separated in the ensuing fight. Korra made it to the cellar on her own, and was debating whether to go out in search of Asami.
On the one hand, she can't just hide here and do nothing while her friend's in trouble. On the other hand, Asami outright told her to go hide, and the other girl was more than capable of taking care of herself. Probably moreso than Korra right now if she's honest with herself.
The sound of footsteps approaching makes her internal debate null; she gets ready to attack just in case.
