[Korra is, while not entirely blind to Hei's antipathy, more optimistic about it than she should be. She remembers her first pregnancy and how, even if he wouldn't admit it, how drawn in he was by the baby, the possibilities that it let him imagine. While that ended badly, she doesn't want to think that it completely destroyed his ability to hope.
